Oxford Welsh Male Voice Choir

Founded in 1928...

Joint Concert with Tenby Male Choir
12th April 2014

The Choir returned to the Abingdon Guildhall for the first time in many years. We are sharing the stage with the brilliant Tenby Male Choir.

Alex Howgego accompanied the choirs when Helen was conducting.

Hannah Nye had a solo spot and also sang Morte Christe with the combined choirs.

For comic relief Tenby performed Grandfathers Clock. This ended with the 'Death March' performed by the choir on kazoo.

Helen Swift conducted the 1st and 3rd sets and Ian Williams (Tenby) conducted the 2nd and 4th. The choir were joined for the finale by former choristers from both choirs. Seen on the far right is John Southey, ex Oxford Welsh.

Paul Varallo from Tenby provided solos in the first half. He was accompanied by Jill (no relation) Williams.

Despite 66 voices at full volume during the last verse, Hannah's voice still managed to soar above us.

Oxford brought out the Bandits..... The audience were quite safe, as we were made to perform behind a safety fence! We think we were quite scary!
